Mild Camping Experience
Registration for this season has closed. The season is scheduled to start in early April.

How about a private camping trip and tent stay?

Why not have your first camping experience and tent stay at Edohara Pension's pine cone garden? Enjoy a full-fledged experience without bringing anything! If you're not comfortable sleeping in a tent at night or have any concerns, you can also use the pension's guest rooms. Perfect for families with small children!

Perfect for a first camping experience with three generations of family, or a girls' camping trip. Please use the guesthouse's restrooms and showers.

Of course, we'll help! Huge tents, moss gardens, hammocks, bonfires, and self-catering BBQ! It's not scary, not cold, not itchy, and not dark!

We provide everything you need, including a sturdy tent, bedding, seasonal ingredients, and a campfire, but it's a milder, more relaxed camping experience than glamping. We'll help you with things like starting the fire and barbecuing.

Mild Camping is by reservation only. Please contact us for details.

Not wild...

Since it's my first time, a mild version is fine.

Guest rooms in the guesthouse are also available.

Guests staying in tents (sleeping up to 4 people) can use the regular guesthouse rooms (4 beds) and facilities as an escape option. For example, after finishing a BBQ, bonfire, and outdoor activities, the mother and younger children can take a bath and go to sleep in the guesthouse, while the father and older brother continue sleeping in the tent. Alternatively, four men could stay in tents, and the women could sleep in the guesthouse room. For groups of four or more, the guesthouse room is available for sleeping only.

Flow of a camping experience

Our staff will help you prepare for your camping trip.

  1. You don't need to pitch a tent or prepare firewood, but please check in between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM for your camping stay.

  2. After putting our luggage in our rooms, we'll gather at the pine cone garden. Once we've had a chance to relax, we'll prepare our bedding and light the bonfire before it gets dark.

  3. Preparations for the BBQ featuring delicious ingredients from Shinshu will begin at 17:30! Please start lighting the charcoal.

  4. 18:00, Cheers everyone! The BBQ begins.

  5. It's getting dark. Please relax and enjoy some time roasting marshmallows or sitting around a campfire.

  6. Lights out is at 10:00 PM. Please dress warmly. Like most campsites, we have a designated lights-out time. Please snuggle into your warm sleeping bag and get a good night's sleep. Please make sure to extinguish any campfires and take baths before then. Making noise late into the night is against the rules, so please be mindful of that!

  7. I wake up to the sound of birdsong. Good morning. 8:00 AM. Please enjoy breakfast in the guesthouse dining room.
